6mm Creedmoor
The 6mm Creedmoor is engineered for precision, consistency, and efficiency across a wide range of shooting disciplines. Developed as a necked-down variant of the 6.5 Creedmoor, this cartridge offers a balance of high velocity and exceptionally flat trajectories, making it ideal for long-range applications. Its ability to launch high-BC 6mm projectiles with minimal recoil provides shooters with superior accuracy, extended supersonic range, and reduced wind drift compared to many traditional mid-caliber options.
With outstanding inherent accuracy, the 6mm Creedmoor has earned a place in both competitive shooting and practical hunting. In competition, it is valued for its predictable ballistics, manageable recoil, and ability to maintain tight groups at extended distances. In the field, it delivers the velocity and energy necessary for medium game, while minimizing shooter fatigue during extended sessions. The cartridge’s efficiency in modern short-action platforms further solidifies its reputation as a versatile, high-performance option for today’s precision marksman.
The Barnes 6mm 90 gr TAC-TX is a lead-free, all-copper hollow point boat tail designed for controlled, reliable expansion across a broad velocity range. The 90 grain projectile at .243 diameter is purpose-built for medium and large game at hunting distances, with a sectional density of .218 and a G1 BC of .443 providing consistent downrange performance and minimal wind drift.
The TAC-TX's copper construction eliminates core-jacket separation on impact. The polymer tip initiates expansion at lower velocities, ensuring consistent terminal performance whether the round is fired at distance or close range. Four razor-edged petals deploy on impact and retain near full weight through the target.
At 1.254" in length, this projectile requires a minimum twist rate of 1:7.5 to stabilize correctly. Verify barrel twist before use.
